About Park Ridge Soccer Club
Park Ridge Soccer Club (PRSC) was founded in 1969 when members of the Community came together to organize their kids into teams and leagues in an effort to teach them the game they grew up enjoying. Over the years those initial efforts expanded into the program we have today -- with over 1500 players a year participating in our House, Travel, Premier, and Academy Programs.
PRSC is the sole soccer affiliate of the Park Ridge Park District and provides opportunities for players ages 5-18 to play soccer at many different levels.
The mission of PRSC is to encourage kids of all ages and abilities to love soccer and develop their skills playing the game. We have a strong belief in the value of sports in promoting the physical, mental, and social well-being of our children. We strive to maintain a competitive soccer program with an emphasis on each player and team advancing to achieve their full potential. Our philosophy is to help players develop their skills and to create teams that share energy and passion, as well as to demonstrate sportsmanship, leadership and a love of the game.
We organize and maintain a recreational soccer program with an emphasis on players having fun while achieving their full potential. Our PRSC House League program is a great fit for players who enjoy having one practice and one game a week during Fall and Spring seasons. Over 1100 children participate each season on teams that play other Park Ridge teams, promoting a great sense of community. Players are coached and managed by volunteer parents, and players are grouped by school grade level. Registration is done online for House League players.
Playing on a PRSC Travel Team requires a year-long commitment by the player and family. Players will have multiple practices a week with professional coaches at their home fields as well as traveling to nearby communities for games, clinics, and tournament play. Travel is a ten-month program involving about 325 children.
We believe that skill development occurs in two distinct areas: individual and team. It is the objective of PRSC to increase each player’s skills in both of these areas. The player is assessed on individual athleticism, soccer skills, effort, sportsmanship, and trainability. We hope to increase player development in a supportive and fast-paced environment, while players grow and mature in a competitive soccer setting. PRSC Travel tryouts are in May - for more information please refer to the Travel tab.
Our PRSC Premier program is for high school players who are accustomed to a competitive level of play. Our high school girls' Premier teams play in the Fall, and our high school boys' Premier teams play in the Spring. This schedule allows for our athletes to play soccer for their high school team as well as at PRSC. Our Premier program offers an Elite team as well as additional teams, and we offer our players movement between teams to allow for flexibility and player growth. Overall, the High School Premier program has about 80 players. We are pleased to offer a local, competitive, financially-sound program for our high school soccer players who want to continue their soccer-playing success. For more information and registration, please refer to the Premier tab.
