House League Coordinator Responsibilities

Position/League Description: This part-time, seasonal position serves as the Park Ridge Soccer Club's House League coordinator for the club's recreational leagues.  The Park Ridge Soccer Club provides a youth recreational league for children, ages Kindergarten through High School, for the purpose of building soccer skills, building friendships, and strengthening the love of the game of Soccer.

Statement: This position reports directly to the House League Director(s) and Director of Soccer Operations.  The coordinator oversees the House League Soccer Program, as well as specific supplemental programs and events. The House League Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day management of the PRSC recreational soccer program, including all aspects of team formation, scheduling, volunteer coach placement, and program communications.  The candidate preferably should have experience in youth sports coaching or management.  Soccer knowledge is highly desirable.  The chosen candidate will be a highly motivated individual with a growth mindset who is able to work both individually and in a collaborative setting.  The candidate will excel at multi-tasking, will be detail oriented and highly organized, and have excellent computer and technology skills.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work with PRSC staff to promote the direction and vision of the club

  • Supervise/work closely with PRSC Director(s) and PRSC Board Members

  • Coordinate and collaborate with the PRSC Director of Soccer Operations to support programmatic coaching initiatives

  • Build, monitor, and track registrations for all recreational seasons

  • Form all teams

  • Schedule practices and games

  • Understand the game of soccer and have the ability to establish team sizes in accordance with our rules

  • Support the club's executive director with administrative duties relating to recreational coaching staff (including, but not limited to, background checks, concussion protocol, and team placement)

  • Coordinate with the club's support staff for all field and equipment requirements

  • Attend meetings and represent PRSC

  • Possess excellent communication, organizational, time management, and dispute-resolution skills

  • Demonstrate integrity and reliance on ethically sound standards

  • Commit to working a non-traditional work schedule with evening and weekend hours (approximately 250 per season)

  • Have proven computer and technology skills including website management, database management, and mass communication

  • Make every effort to be in town/not traveling each season between the close of registration and week 2 of games

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Soccer experience preferred

  • Program coordination experience preferred but not mandatory.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to communicate well with both parents and players

  • Flexible, adaptable, personable, and self-directed
