INTERESTED IN BECOMING A SOCCER OFFICIAL?  

REGISTRATION FOR LOCAL TRAINING IS NOW OPEN  

For the past 20 years, Park Ridge Soccer Club (PRSC) has offered an entry level training program for anyone who wants to become a soccer official. This year there are two training options:  

PRSC New House League Referee & Assistant Referees 

This training is open to 7th and 8th graders, high school students, and adults and is an ideal entry into soccer officiating.  

This option is hosted by the Park Ridge Soccer Club and taught by the Referee Program Coordinator. The program consists of four evening classroom sessions  of two hours each, held over two weeks. All sessions are held in Park Ridge.  

New referees will be assigned as a center referee for age-appropriate House League games and as an Assistant Referee for U8 through U10, Park Ridge Soccer Club home games.  

USSF First Time Grassroots Referee  

Those looking for a greater challenge may instead choose to take the USSF First Time Grassroots Training Program.  

The USSF option is not a local training program. It is only available through the  U.S. Soccer Federation and is provided in association with the Illinois Soccer  Referee Committee (ISRC).  

Once completed, USSF participants are primarily eligible for assignments as an Assistant Referee or Center Referee for club matches. They may also officiate  PRSC House League matches if they so desire.
