We are proud to announce our inaugural winner of our Coach K. Award, Jake Chaplin. 

Jake Chaplin is a long time member of Park Ridge Soccer Club's TOPSoccer program - our program for young athletes with disabilities to learn to play soccer. At each practice, the players are paired up with a high school buddy. Jake has been involved in TOPSoccer for years, originally as a player, and more recently, as one of the buddies. On Friday, May 19th, Jake received the Coach K award for Sportsmanship, Humor and Fun from Park Ridge Soccer Club. Jake is a student at Notre Dame College Prep. 

Nobody deserves it more than Jake! Congratulations and well done! 

About Coach K. 

Coach K. (AKA Bruce Kowalski) was a longtime board member, club treasurer, and trusted friend. He passed away after a short battle with ALS in 2023. Bruce spent many years volunteering with several aspects of our program, including our House League and his favorite program, TOPSoccer. You could see the joy and energy in Bruce’s eyes every time he spoke of the TOPSoccer program and specifically of any of the kids whom he coached and mentored throughout the years. We are honored to present this award to a TOPSoccer individual who exemplifies the qualities that Bruce instilled in our program.
