Training Sessions

PRSC REFEREE PROGRESSION

Ideally, first time referees would start with the local PRSC ENTRY LEVEL REFEREE TRAINING. This is a great introduction to soccer officiating. The PRSC certification would enable them to be assigned as referees for the recreational House League program or Assistant Referees for younger aged club matches.

After a year's experience, returning referees can recertify within the PRSC referee program to receive more challenging House League or AR assignments or opt to become USSF Certified. The USSF First Time Referee certification program is administered by the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) in association with the Illinois State Referee Committee (ISRC).  In addition to assignments in the House League (at a higher pay rate) and as an AR for the older club age levels, USSF certified  referees can be assigned as a center referee for age appropriate club matches.

Please click on the Referee Progression page below for additional information.

The training consists of two parts, an online session that candidates complete on their own and an in-person training session hosted by the ISRC.
