
PRS Shoot Out Challenge Competition

- Most points in each division wins the Challenge
- Open to all teams participating in the tournament.

Bracketing & Schedule
Separate boys’ and girls’ brackets for each age group.
- Separate boys’ and girls’ brackets for each age group.
- Brackets filled on a first come basis.
- Maximum of 12 teams in each age bracket.
- May combine up to 2 age groups to create a bracket.
- All competition held on Saturday between 9 am to 6:15 pm.
- Ages U9, U10 & U11 can compete at the Emerson Middle School location.
- Ages U11, U12, U13 & U14 can compete at the headquarters site at Maine East High School.
- Teams can shoot at whatever location they are playing at.
Registration:
- Before the event (recommended)
- Check the box on the tournament application.
- Include the $25 entrance fee (this is in addition to the tournament entry fee)
- Mail the completed tournament application along with your check.
- During the event (limited number of openings)
- Check with the officials at the registration tent to determine
- which age groups will be competing.
- Bring your team to the shoot out tent and pay the entrance fee.
- Fill out the shoot-out roster and take your shots.
Refunds/Cancellation:
If not enough teams are pre-registered to create brackets in each division or combined age group, teams that are affected will receive a full refund. Once acceptance notices are distributed, there will be no refunds unless the event or a particular division’s competition is cancelled. Should the entire event or any division of the shoot out competition be cancelled due to weather, playing conditions or for any other reason at any time during the competition, all teams that are affected will receive a full refund.
Competition Rules:
Rosters
Coaches will be given a shoot out card at registration. The coach must record all rostered players in the order they will shoot. All players listed on the tournament roster at the time of registration must appear on the shoot-out card. Players’ passes will be checked against the card.
Shoot out Order
All players will shoot in the order they appear on the card. A total of 18 shots (U12 –U14) or 14 shots (U9 – U11) will be taken for each team. If one team has less rostered players than the other, additional shooters will be selected by blind draw so that all teams take an equal number of shots.
Scoring
Points will be awarded for each target hit. Total points will be recorded for each team. The team with the most points will be the winner.
Points are awarded as follows:
- Hitting target wall, post or cross bar – 0 points
- On net anywhere - 2 points
- Pocket in lower corner- 5 points
- Pocket in upper corner- 10 points.
- Ball must stay in pocket for points to be awarded.
- Ties will be decided by a playoff round.
- Playoffs, if necessary, will be scheduled on Sunday
Forfeits/Failure to show
Teams must have a minimum of 12 rostered players (U12 through U14) and 8 rostered players (U9 through U11) available to participate. Teams not meeting this requirement will forfeit their opportunity to post a score.
