2008 Park Ridge Memorial Day Tournament - BASIC INFORMATION:

  On behalf of Park Ridge Soccer, we would like to invite your club or team to apply to the 25th annual Park Ridge Memorial Day Tournament to be held in Park Ridge, Illinois on May 23-25, 2008. The tournament is one of Illinois oldest holiday tournaments.

from their coach or team manager. 
Bring the Parent Assignment Sheet with you
to the site Communications tent to check in
prior to your assignment.  You must check in
to get credit for your assignment.

Teams & Ages

220 maximum - boys and girls divisions, U9 through U14. 

Competition

The tournament is sanctioned by the IYSA and is open to all boy’s and girl’s competitive teams participating in the spring 2008 outdoor season. We offer up to two to four competitive flights at each age group. Teams are placed by their record and league level with the most competitive teams placed in the highest flight.  

Players per team

U9 - Max 14, 6v6 format
U10 & U11 - Max 14, 8v8 format
U-12, U13 & U14 - Max 18, 11v11 format
Rosters can include up to 3 guest players 

Games

Minimum 3 games for all divisions with 2-25 minute halves. Qualifying teams will play a 4th game. A three-man referee crew is used for all U11 through U14 games and for U9 and U10 Championship games. Games are played according to FIFA rules.

Field Locations

All U12, U13 and U14 games will be played either at Maine East High School or at Woodland Park.  All U9 and U10 games will be played at Oakton Community College.  Depending on the gender and division that the teams are in, all U11 games will be played at either Woodland Park or Maine East High School. 

Awards

Tournament Patches for all rostered players
Championship awards for all age groups:
8 team divisions: individual awards for 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th place
6 team divisions or less: individual awards for 1 st & 2nd place 

Key Dates

Application availability: January, 2008
$25 Early Bird Single Team discount deadline, March 22, 2008
$50 per team with Club Early Bird Discount(5+ teams) deadline: April 8, 2008
Entry deadline: April 15, 2008 or until divisions are full
Final Acceptance Posting: Last week of April, 2008
Schedule Posting: First week of May, 2008 

Entry Fees

U9 & U10: $400 per team 
U11, U12, U13 & U14: $450 per team
$25 discount for early registration (application must be received before March 21, 2008).
$50 per team with Club Early Bird Discount(5+ teams) deadline: April 8, 2008
Upon acceptance, fees are non-refundable.  

Eligibility

All players must be age eligible for their division.  Players can be rostered for only one team and must have a valid USYSA player pass.  Out of state teams must have a travel permit signed by their state organization. 

PRS Shoot out Challenge

Tournament within a tournament – a target shoot-out competition. Qualification rounds are conveniently held before or after your games. Easy on the keeper and no waiting around. Entry is open to all teams but acceptance is limited so register early. We are planning separate boys and girls divisions. Entry fee is $25 per team. Club Championship

Team Competition open to soccer clubs having 5 or more teams registered in the tournament. Designate any 5 teams from your club. The club with the best overall record for their 5 teams is awarded the PRS Club Championship. Club and individual player awards will be presented. Tournament Hotel

The Marriott Hotel Group has provided special group rates to all participating teams. Hotels are close to the game venues and within a 20 minute drive to downtown Chicago or major shopping centers such as Woodfield, Old Orchard or Oakbrook. A list of these properties and prices is available on the website. Direct email access to the hotels is available by clicking on the Marriott logo on the tournament home page.
