2011-2012 information
Park Ridge Soccer Travel Program Tryout Overview
We realize that our children are different sizes, maturity, and athletic ability and that these things change over time. Park Ridge Soccer, a not-for-profit organization, works hard to find a place for all children, if possible, at levels of competition where the child can develop, have fun, be given leadership opportunities, and achieve success. Therefore, in each age group there is typically more than one team, each playing at a different level of competition. Over time, players may move across these different levels depending upon their development and effort put into soccer.
Travel Tryout Dates For the Next Season
(Click on Heading)
The travel soccer tryouts for the next year’s Fall season and Spring season will be held starting on the last weekend in May and during the first two weeks of June (as mandated by the Illinois Youth Soccer Association). Because many families depart for vacations immediately following the conclusion of the school year in mid-June, PRS will hold a compacted tryout schedule during the first two weeks of June. It is important for your child to attend all tryout sessions for his/her age group.
Eligibility
Park Ridge Soccer offers a competitive soccer program for children residing or attending school full-time within the service area of the Park Ridge Park District.
Registration and Frequently Asked Questions
Bring your completed registration document, signed by a parent, to the tryout. Click here to download the Application. By signing the registration document, you acknowledge that you have received or downloaded the “Information about the P.R.S. Travel Program” document. If you are unable to download this document, it will be available at the tryout registration table. The format of the tryout sessions is a one day process. If you have specific questions that relate to tryouts please contact the one of the respective Travel Soccer directors found on the Park Ridge Soccer Board of Directors page.
Team Formation process
Players will be placed on teams based on their ability, interest, and age. The number of teams formed will depend on the number of players who try out, and the mix of player ages and abilities. We hope to be able to offer appropriate spots to all players, but that is not always possible, and there are typically some “cuts” at each age level each year.
Team Announcements
If all tryouts are completed on time based on weather and other variables, teams will be selected and posted on the PRS website www.prsoccer.com within two days (after all of the age group have held their tryouts). Immediately after the tryouts the coaching assignments for each team will be done.
Club Fees
Club fees for the 2011-2012 soccer year will be $750 (U9-U12) and $850 (U13-U14), which includes two seasons of play (Fall 2011 & Spring 2012). U13-U14 fees cover full-time Trainer Coaches. Standard uniform cost for new U9 and U10 players will be approximately $100. Standard uniform cost for new U11 or older players may range from $125 to $150. Payment is due in full at the team meeting. Club fees can only be paid by check (made out to "PRS"). There is a $20 fee associated with returned checks.
Need Financial Assistance?
In cases of financial hardship, there may be financial assistance available which will be evaluated discreetly on a case-by-case basis. Download the financial assistance application form and download the instructions for a description of the assistance program.
Refund Policy
Once a player has accepted a spot on a team, signed the roster and club fees have been paid, no refunds are given.
Coaches
Park Ridge Travel Soccer uses a method of parent coaches assisted by professional trainers. If you’re interested in coaching a team, click here download the coaches application and email the form to the PRS Commissioner or respective Travel Soccer director found on the Park Ridge Soccer Board of Directors page.
