A FEW FACTS ABOUT PARK RIDGE SOCCER
PRS Code of Conduct - Parents
Soccer is a game; it should be fun. Children play soccer to improve their skills, for excitement, to be with friends, to make new friends and to be part of a team. In your role as a soccer parent you have duties and responsibilities. You are responsible to help your player understand the meaning of success. Winning is not everything. Improving skills, both personally and as a team, giving maximum effort and striving to do one’s best are all measures of success.
As a soccer parent, you are responsible for your own behavior and the behavior of your players. Under no circumstances can you participate in the following behaviors or allow your players to do so:
1. Blame a loss on a player, referee, parent or spectator.
2. Belittle or demean a player, referee, parent or spectator.
3. Curse or swear at a player, referee, parent or spectator.
4. Push or strike a player, referee, parent or spectator.
Coaches OUR COACHES ARE VOLUNTEERS who may or may not have had soccer playing/coaching experience. PRS provides training and coaching clinics. For more info, contact the PRS Director of Training, Chris Caudill via parkridgesoccer@hotmail.com .
Referees attend training classes. However, they receive most of their training on the job and need everyone’s respect and support. If you are interested in this paid position, please call 825-8728.

Uniform Program
PRSA supplies high quality, multi-season, reversible JERSEYS and two different colored pairs of SOCKS. These uniforms are intended to last for 2 years (4 soccer seasons). New JERSEYS and SOCKS will be provided at NO ADDITIONAL COST to participants EVERY 2 YEARS. If your player needs a REPLACEMENT jersey or ADDITIONAL socks in LESS than 2 years, you must pay an ADDITIONAL FEE. For new players, a reversible jersey and 2 pair of socks are included in the standard fee.
As always, players must provide their own SHIN GUARDS and BLACK SHORTS. All players must wear black soccer shorts. Cleated soccer shoes are optional in the House League Program, but are NOT ALLOWED in the Instructional Program.
Team Formation
TEAMS ARE FORMED in the Instructional and Pee Wee Divisions according to which school players attend, or if a player requests to play with a friend. Starting with Midgets, Division Directors form teams based on an equitable distribution of players according to ratings from their coaches, and grade level in school. For the most part, requests to play with other players/coaches are not honored , but most players will be on a team with a few kids from their school.
If it is RAINING the morning of the game...
The games will be played as scheduled unless the Park District does not allow us to play because of poor field conditions. Division Directors will notify coaches as early as possible if games are canceled. ONLY Midget, Junior and Mid-Senior games will be rescheduled if they are canceled.
PICTURES ARE TAKEN IN FALL SEASON ONLY See your coach for details.
TRAVEL TEAM TRYOUTS are held in early June.
SCOTT WADE MEMORIAL FUND
Scott Wade was a referee and lifelong soccer player. He was twenty years old when he was struck by lightening while he was refereeing a Park Ridge Youth Soccer game. A Memorial Fund in his name was established. This fund awards scholarships every year to four High School Seniors who write a convincing essay about how soccer positively influenced their lives. The money comes from individual donors and a portion of the Memorial Day Tournament Registration fees. If your family would like to make a donation, please send it to: PRYSA, PO BOX 59A, Park Ridge IL 60068
